Harrisburg Man Sentenced for Girlfriend’s Murder
William F. Jackson, 43, was sentenced Monday to 16 to 29 years in the State Correctional Institution at Philadelphia for the murder of his girlfriend, Jayne Ann Manigault, on Nov 5. A Dauphin County jury found him guilty of second degree murder last March 20. Neighbors found Manigault four days after the fatal 22 caliber bullet wound to the chest. Jackson claimed the slaying was accidental.

Wilmington Township supervisors voted to withhold payment for parts and labor on a 10 ton dump truck bought in 1968 after transmission trouble. The Barris Co. in West Middlesex repaired it, but costs were disputed. They will discuss the matter with Barris' owner before paying.
