Victor Thomas Jr the principal of Bessemer High was elected president of the Lawrence County Principals Association at a Thursday dinner in Harlansburg. Officers named include Elizabeth Miller Hillsville as vice president Glen Johnson Shenango secretary and Roy F Conway assistant county superintendent treasurer. Jimmie Firster provided entertainment and Arthur Gibson retiring president West Pittsburgh led the event.
William H. Martin known as Kiddo left a tavern predicting a bridge jump. He vanished for five weeks before his body was recovered from the Ohio River. In Cleveland officials blamed a possible poison plot after over 100 pigeons were found dead on public square.

Samuel Reber announced the adjournment after 41 meetings with no agreement on a permanent Austrian settlement. The powers plan to study Reber’s memorandum on disposing of German assets in Austria during the two-week pause.

A three man high commission will supervise the end of military government and a civilian German federal republic will form.
