Louis B Round district manager for the Pennsylvania and Ohio System in New Castle is profiled. He began as a meter reader and installer with New Castle Electric Co before joining the present system, rising to district manager this year, and he was married in the same year. He resides on Weshan nock Boulevard.

Lawrenc e county readers will visit the Charles G. Jordan game farm near Harlansburg this summer to see 1200 ringneck pheasants including four golden ringnecks and two silver ringnecks. A mysterious large ringneck from the state bird hotel visits daily. The farm is one of two state facilities, the other at John S. Fisher farm in Montgomery county. Dr. and Mrs. E. Kaplan depart for Boston for a week to attend the American College of Physicians conference.
The annual Moose memorial service of New Castle lodge No. 51 Loyal Order of Moose will be Sunday evening at a time to be announced in the cathedral auditorium. Edward A. Schofield of Pittsburgh will speak and Harry L. Wright will deliver the eulogy. Jessie Mockel will accompany with vocal numbers and the Moose orchestra led by Mrs. Fred S. Emery will perform. The program honors sixteen former members.
A Greensburg Pa report details three automobile crashes near Greensburg and West Newton, leaving Mrs Susan Daugherty and Paul Wyner dead and four others injured. The first crash killed Daugherty and fractured her knee. a six year old boy died at the scene. Injured include Helen Daugherty, Jerry Wine, Osmille McElwee, and H G Leng. McElwee and Wine were en route from a dog show when their car hit a train. two hours were needed to free the wreck. Floodwaters on Willow Grove road delayed travel, with 120 inches still over Wampum road area. State police seek driver who fled the first crash.
Shenango and New Castle plants of American Sheet and Tin Plate will run at 160 percent capacity starting Monday at 8 a m for a sixteen burn week. Shenango has forty mills and New Castle twenty mills participating.
Rebels led by tanks and cavalry pressed toward Naco Sonora with infantry in rear. Planes bombarded Federal defenses while rifles fired as the attack moved within a quarter mile of entrenchments. Observers on the American side watched the action amid crowded vantage points.
The Shenango River rose to 13.7 feet at three this morning, near flood stage and highest since 1913, while the Neshannock Creek subsided. Lowlands flood along the Shenango Range, Erie railroad tracks between Sharon and New Castle damaged yet traffic resumes. Wrecking crews repair washouts as lines reopen. two-track service restored between New Castle and Sharon.
Washington reports plans for the 1930 census assign a New Castle resident as supervisor of the twenty sixth district covering Lawrence Beaver and Butler counties. The supervisor will work from New Castle with a $2000 salary, as officials weigh appointment procedures amid political hesitation.
International Reef Servicer New York reports the Paris, a major trans Atlantic liner with over 1,000 passengers, ran aground in Owl's Head flats near Brooklyn. Tug crews fought the mud while oil was pumped to lighten the vessel. Refloating hoped by 3:30 pm as the tide rose. Passengers faced the delay calmly, entertained themselves aboard.
President Hoover blocks further federal tax cuts until the budget is balanced. Administration and congressional leaders back him, delaying tax relief to at least the next two sessions and pushing consideration to December 1930. A huge surplus is noted, with continuation on page two.

President Hoover and a fishing party arrived near Shenandoah National Park for a summer camp site selection along the Rapidan. The entourage included Maj. F.C Long, Capt. Wilson Brown, and Secretary Wilbur, with W. E. Carson acting as host as the group planned a season of fishing and outdoor activity in the area.
Weather outlook for April 8 to 14 covers North and Middle Atlantic states with a shower chance around Tuesday. Mild in the middle states until Tuesday night, then cooler midweek and a rise in temperatures toward week’s end. Ohio Valley mostly fair with possible showers Monday or Tuesday, and warmer conditions late in the period.
