Indians Launch New Era with First Game at Jacobs Field
The Cleveland Indians opened Jacobs Field with a sold out crowd of 41,459 and a 42,400 seat capacity. The park’s design reportedly surpasses Baltimore’s Oriole Park with airy, compact spaces, a panoramic upper deck view, natural grass, 410 feet to deep outfield, and a busy Gateway Project surrounding downtown Cleveland. Ticket sales for season seats surged to about 17,000. The venue includes Kiddie Land and multiple souvenir and snack options, though parking is limited and lines were long on opening day.
