Local and state agencies arrested 31 suspects yesterday in a coordinated drug roundup in Lawrence County. Twenty one of the 25 taken into custody had already been arraigned in Central Court. Six remain at large as of this morning. Avalyn Shank, art teacher at Wilmington Middle School, received the Pennsylvania Art Educator of the Year for 2009. The award was presented by the Pennsylvania Art Education Association for outstanding youth creativity and dedication to art education.

She earned her art degrees from Westminster College, has taught at Wilmington for 20 years, and previously taught elementary art in Mohawk Area District. she will be noted again at the national convention in Harrisburg.
