The Men's club of Mahoningtown Presbyterian church postponed its Thursday evening gathering due to ongoing evangelist Edward Dunlap led gospel meetings under Y M C A auspices. No new date yet. revival at Third Christian Church by E J Dunlap continues with conversions and nightly hearings.
A New Castle event lists favored contestants for the Goddess of Liberty with names and addresses across streets such as Liberty, Madison, Pittsburg, and West Cherry. Ballot boxes are set at multiple local shops and pharmacies for the April 2021 selection tied to the Confederate Spy tableaux.

Thomas Jenkins of Mahioning avenue, a Shenango tin mill worker, is reported with a threatened typhoid fever, alarming friends.
The intermediate department plans a grand athletic carnival in the opera house on April 8 with a pretty wand drill and an exhibition on the German horse. More than thirty young men will perform on stage. The event follows an exhibition by the student department and features named students training for a basketball game with local business men.
Hosea Kennedy a longtime local resident of Hendrickson avenue suffered a stroke Thursday evening while seated at home and is in serious condition. He has long dealt with dropsy and heart trouble and reportedly fell when attempting to rise. Kennedy and his father once ran the old Kennedy mill near McConnell’s mills.
Niles Ohio April 2 The Mahoning Valley company employees staged minstrel shows for the Baer family of Stow after an injury. Proceeds from shows photo sales and collections totaled about 2060 dollars to aid the family. Mr Baer arrived in Niles and is recovering, with hopes to resume work soon.
A reader announces the Magazine Club of America offering subscriptions to 10 or 15 magazines monthly for a small fee around 26 cents per month. Members receive a magazine roster each month and can request a membership card. location listed as Cochran Street near Fountain Tom.
United Press reports the 18.2 billiard tournament will conclude tonight with Gra Morningstar versus George Slosson. Morningstar would claim the title and larger purse if he wins, while Slosson’s victory would leave Morningstar and Sutton tied for first with five wins. Souls Cure has two wins, Albert Culler and Calvin Demarest meet this afternoon, Cure may join two-victory group if Demarest loses. Harry Cline sits with one win in six played.
Sergeant John Walsh, a 57 year old U S Army long distance walker, arrived in Boston after a 7706 mile trek from Boston to San Francisco in 786 days. He started August 12, 1908 and arrived October 23, claiming to have lost weight but feeling strong. He plans another effort in a race with Howard Payson Weston who began from New York last week.
Mrs. Mary Porter fell Wednesday and broke her hip. George D. Brown, Miss Jessia Gibron, and Charles Terrill visited in New Castle and Pulaski on Thursday. Mrs. C. Brown and Mrs. Hannah Heasley also visited New Castle Thursday. Miss Fern Johnston visited her sister Mrs. George Foreman in Pulaski. Mr. and Mrs. William Cotton returned Thursday from Akron Ohio. Sick list includes Hlegnor Jackson improved Mrs. A. J. Knox a little better Jean Davidson worse Mrs. Elmer Lostetter no better Mrs. John Thompson slightly improved James Todd about the same Marguerite Book better and Mrs. B. L. Ayers somewhat improved. The Surprises club gave Mr. and Mrs. Charles Clark a social Wednesday with games, music and lunch. attendees included numerous local families.
The final union meeting of the Central Presbyterian and Flist M. 1 congregations for the week will be Friday evening in the former church. Special singing from the Alexander song book will feature, with the Juniors largely directing the music. Next week's services move to the Flist M. E. Church and run through Good Friday.
