A suspect tied to the brutal robbery of Mrs. Martha Cook near Enon was rumored seen in Beaver Falls. Emil Johnston, a former Beaver Falls policeman, said he recognized the description and that the suspect was in town. Mrs. Cook was tied, threatened with fire, and robbed of about $65 weeks earlier.
Bessemer enforces a new nationwide shipment rule aimed at intoxicating liquors crossing state lines. The act imposes a 5000 dollar penalty and requires outer packaging to identify consignee and contents. Shipments may only be delivered to the consignee or via written orders, with penalties for noncompliance.
