Riots in Budapest as Socialists clash with coalition supporters
In Budapest last evening between forty and fifty were injured when Socialists and coalitions adherents clashed opposite the Royal hotel, headquarters of the Independence club. Police and 150 citizens kept order as 1,500Socialists gathered to storm the coalition council room, prompting the postponement of a torchlight procession. The coalition issued a manifesto criticizing the emperor king's program and urging Hungary to retain control of its affairs under a possible independent customs sphere.
