Currency Committee Bill Heads Senate Action
The bill introduced by Senator Aldrich would create a nine member currency commission to consolidate financial legislation in a single act. Senate and house conferees admit no agreement on an emergency measure and favor a nonpartisan commission instead. The Lilley inquiry and military resolution receive debate as the omnibus public buildings bill passes and sundry civil appropriations move toward final agreement.
