Coroner files verdict in double tragedy
The coroner filed verdicts confirming the deaths of Richard E. Deputy and George Brooks after Deputy fatally shot Brooks at 31 West First Street and then killed himself at his home 35 West First Street. Brooks, aka Runt Brooks, died at St Edward's Hospital. Deputy was 40, a former Air Line brakeman turned saloon operator.

Guards Released From Indiana Kentucky Bridge Quarantine
