Conrad Link of the Chicago police force was found dead in woods near Valparaiso Indiana with the cause not stated. In Richmond Indiana a fatal shooting affray occurred between Dennis and John O Neal with John shooting Dennis after a drunken quarrel. John was arrested.
Lawrenceburg Indiana May 3 George A Smith a wealthy farmer of Dillsboro in this city tried to restrain a frightened horse. He was thrown down and his arm broken. A broken shaft pierced the horse's side for several inches. Mr Smith is nearly eighty and a year ago broke a leg driving young horses.
Indianapolis reports indicate town elections left both parties with gains and losses. Republicans won in some areas previously Democratic strongholds while Democrats captured seats in regions formerly led by Republicans, reflecting mixed results across the town.
