Farmer Boy Seeks Revenge in Winchester Shooting

In Winchester Tennessee on March 20 E D Brannan city recorder was shot twice in the street by farmer boy assailant Dude Shadow. Shadow had been fined by Brannan for fighting with some Negroes and fled after shooting. Officers pursued and captured Shadow as he tried to swim the creek. Funeral marks long service of Mrs Wallace and Wallace kin

Funeral services honored Mrs. Wallace a charter church member for about six decades. Prof. F. R. Benton of Butler University delivered the sermon. She left two children and three grandchildren, with General Lew Wallace as her stepson. Zerelda Sanders wed David Wallace in 1836. he later served as Indiana lieutenant governor and governor and congressman, sharing in a public life through triumphs and trials.

In Vincennes Indiana Lillian Davis and Etlen Brunner recently released from jail attempted suicide by leaping into the Wabash river. Davis was rescued after disappearing in 15 feet of water with a companion catching her by the hair. Brunner, shaken by the act, chose not to jump and remained on shore.
