In Sydney Nova Scotia on September 22 Commander Robert E Peary stated he will not accept invitations to receptions or public honors until the pole discovery controversy is settled by competent authorities He noted he will issue further statements soon and plans to return to Eagle Island Friday morning He follows guidance from the Peary Arctic club leaders General Hubbard and Herbert Bridgman.
