Des Moines Iowa reports two dozen hours of storm activity as three tornadoes tear through towns. Himo near the Missouri border is destroyed with six deaths. Glenwood Buxton and South Des Moines each report fatalities and numerous injuries amid widespread property loss.
Salina Kansas endures the worst flood in its history with over one hundred families displaced. Four inches of rain in 24 hours floods the northwestern area and threatens western districts as the Missouri Pacific line backs water. Passengers rode to safety by handcar as Union Pacific washouts disrupt trains and stations are surrounded by floodwaters. Wheat fields become a lake and crops and homes are ruined.
Eastern Nebraska faced another round of storms with several tornadoes. Hastings suffered major damage with homes blown apart and the Parish family injured. Hermann white five years after a deadly twister. Omaha saw foundations blown and roofs torn off, while Plattsmouth faced two feet of floodwater at Burlington station. Rail lines damaged and many bridges washed away as losses run into hundreds of thousands of dollars.

In Wilmington on May 27 Judge Bradford issued a temporary order restraining the Pennsylvania Railroad from removing wires or poles on the Maryland and Delaware divisions of the railroad. The matter will be argued on June 19 before the court.
