Bancor Maine May 26 The Grand Trunk train bound for St Johns Brunswick was stopped by robbers at a small station east of here. The crew fired at the robbers who fled. no trace found and authorities suspect green hands at the business.
Special to the Tribune reports in Sans France May 26 that city stage drivers walked off their jobs leaving no passenger vehicles available. Drivers milled through streets in riotous display, blocking roads several times before gendarmes dispersed the mob.
Special to the Tribune reports in Tallabasser Florida that the state election for senator ended after weeks of fierce fighting. Senator Call, a candidate for re election, is seated for a second term.
A Tribune note explains a change in term structure at the Business College. From now on only one commencement will be held at the end of each scholastic year in May highlighting the delay of diplomas for a July 1890 cohort and honoring those completing the course in less than the standard time.
The institution schedules a busy commencement season with Friday and Saturday music recitals June 6, a 3 PM Sunday sermon for graduates at Trinity M Church by Rev Dr Crook of Louisville, a Horatian Society banquet next Tuesday, and Thursday exorcists at the Opera House.
