A terric storm swept central Indiana causing major property damage and thousands of dollars in crop losses. Lightning struck buildings amid narrow escapes as hail fell and the storm traveled west to east.
The third cyclone in Salina county within twenty four hours struck Assaria last night. William and Peter Olson were killed and a dozen or more injured. Houses were torn up and wheat damaged by hail and rain.
A tornado last night damaged farms east of Ord Nebraska with wrecked houses and outbuildings. No fatalities occurred though telephones wires were down in all directions and heavy rain caused washouts.
The beat residence portion of Ashland was wrecked by a cyclone. A score of more houses were destroyed. No one was killed but several persons were injured. Great damage is reported from the country.
A tornado last night tore Bradshaw Neb to pieces wrecking several barns and outbuildings and carrying livestock away. The United Brethren church was wrecked. No fatalities are reported. Rain fell in torrents.
A twister swept over Hodgman county near Kinsley Kansas yesterday afternoon destroying Dan Gleason’s house and killing Mabel Tuttle. The storm struck fifteen miles northwest of Kinsley, causing casualties and damage.
A cyclone last night demolished the Commercial hotel in Blaine Kansas and damaged numerous houses. No injuries were reported.
Requisition papers reach Memphis granting custody of Mrs Lizzie McCormick for transfer to Cincinnati to stand trial for murder over poisoned whisky. Habeas corpus hearings are in progress in Shelby County Circuit Court, blocking removal from state until resolved.
Wilkes Barre Pa May 22 The Delaware and Hudson Coal company begins removing workers under sixteen in line with the anthracite strike commission report and a recent legislative act.

The government says only 6000 copies of Dr Walter Kempters 1891 study on Jews were printed not 10000. 2000 copies went to the Senate and 4000 to the House and distribution followed normal channels. Campbellstown Indiana May 22 Mrs John Williams living near here committed death by own action by hanging. Her dead body was found in the barn. She had tied a rope about a rafter after making a noose in the other end.
In La Porte Indiana on May 22 the three year old daughter of Elam Seymour drank a bottle of carbolic acid left unattended. She was found dying and rushed to medical aid as authorities investigated the incident.
George Francis Train is isolated at his sister Helen M. Culader's home in Stamford Connecticut after contracting smallpox. Public health authorities order quarantine and monitor his condition as the case proceeds.
A gasoline tank exploded in an automobile owned by Thomas D. Dewitt injuring score or more people in New York. Among the injured were a policeman and three firemen who were burned by blazing gasoline but none died.
