In St Paul on May 19 6 year old son present as Henry Mingers shot and killed Frank Greipel at the Greipel home. Mingers formerly lived with the family and after quarreling entered the house and began firing as Mrs Greipel fetched water. The child tried to intervene but was pushed away. Mingers is under arrest.
Edward Green, a St Louis fireman, fell from a hose while descending from the roof of a five story Olive Street building and died on the pavement. Four colleagues escaped unharmed as thousands watched the perilous descent and crowd cheered their safe exit.
