Capital stock likely 40000 dollars with Mr Atkinson as president. All stock apportioned and the company will begin business in June.
At a late meeting in Linton Indiana on May 6 miners from Island Coal Company voted to follow President Mitchell’s advice to accept arbitration and resume mining pending the arbitration board’s investigation. Snipes have resumed operations.
Albert Dailey aged 30 of Gas City died in Marlton Indiana when attempting to board a moving Union Traction streetcar in Hines City. He slipped between the motor car and the trailer and was killed instantly. Dailey worked as an installment house collector.
Attorney L. C. Phillips was seriously shot in Brazil Indiana on May 6 while passing a mover camp. He killed a dog that attacked him and was instantly fired upon by an unknown assailant who then disappeared.
A May 6 blaze in Oakland City Indiana destroyed the Thompson and Thompson planing mill and damaged one residence. Loss is about 10000 with small insurance.
