A packed Centenary church observed the Centennial celebration with a grand union mass meeting under the Methodist church. Hon. Peter R. Stoy presided, readings of Harrison's proclamation, stirring hymns, and speeches by Rev. H V Givler and Rev. T H Willis highlighted the program. Tribune scribe J Packard spoke in place of a substitute speaker, and Rev. David Van Dyke read an original commemorative poem honoring Washington.
