Letter from Montague Massachusetts describes long illness with run down condition and inability to eat. Dr Nevitt disclosed two notes and small trinkets found on Mrs. Pierre Lorillard’s body. An unopened envelope bore the instruction bury this with my body and one note was in another hand. The Lorillards attended a private funeral as suspicions of suicide arose.

In Galena on March 27 Gussie Seubert sixteen pitched a hay fork over a load ed wagon striking his ten year old brother Willie Seubert in the head the prong entering the brain. Willie died two hours after the injury.

President Taft urged Chief Engineer Goethals to complete the Panama Canal by the close of 1913. Goethals, aiming for 1915, said he would mobilize forces to meet the president’s order, downplaying engineering difficulties and asserting no unusual obstacles exist in the lock canal project.
Chicago reports a new kidnapping of Harold Moon ten, son of Lyman H. Moon of Flint Michigan. He was taken from home February 27 and possibly hidden in Chicago. A description and a suspect figure with scarred hand and distinctive attire circulated to police.
James Boyle, one of the Willie Whitla kidnap suspects, was moved from Pittsburg to Mercer County Jail under heavy guard. His wife expected from Pittsburg. both to be arraigned on kidnapping charges soon. An armed guard and external patrols will stay until the trial ends. William McDermott, Anna Boyle’s alleged grandfather, traveled to Pittsburg with another son to confirm identity.
Chicago March 27 Mary Garden repaid twenty thousand dollars to Mrs. David Mayer who had advanced the sum years ago for the artist’s musical education. The money will be used to assist other struggling vocalists on the road to fame according to Mrs Mayer.

In New York on March 27 Aquilina Chase son of the late General Daniel Chase and cousin of Salmon P. Chase reportedly shot himself in the breast after delivering an obituary notice to the Herald office for publication. He died within minutes amid crowds on Broadway.
In Washington March 37 a clash erupted on the house floor between Fordney of Michigan and Byrd of Mississippi during a lumber schedule debate. Fordney refused Byrd's accusation of a lumber trust and used crude language. The scuffle prompted colleagues to intervene and both men later issued apologies after a misunderstanding.
