In Indianapolis on March 27 talks between bituminous miners and operators across Indiana Ohio Illinois and western Pennsylvania show no progress. Mitchell demands a substantial advance and the 1903 scale. Winder says no increase. Both sides anticipate delays and possible prolonged peaceful strike into four to five months.
