Captain A. E. Mueller and five companions ascended the Ferris balloon America at Pasadena and landed near Strawberry Beck, after a harrowing overland trek of under fifteen miles. They reached Switzer's camp on Mount Wilson slopes unharmed, enduring a fierce blizzard and wandering in the mountains for hours.
The Peace Society of New York hosts an inter nation peace festival at Carnegie Hall. The program centers on music with city singing groups and national costumes. Dignitaries include Wau Ting Fang, Chinese minister, and Andrew Garnette, society president, addressing attendees.

The Queen Oil company drilling on William Lamb's farm two miles west of Petersburg reports gas with pressure over 400 pounds per square inch and an estimated 5,000,000 cubic feet. Drilling halted while crews attempt to cap the well, located 1.5 miles west of the Jumbo gas well once the state's largest at 575 psi.
Astonishment in Richmond Indiana follows the arrest of Harry McFail in Lafayette on charges of cashing fraudulent express orders. Once viewed as an exemplary young man, McFail quit Adams Express to work in the west, visiting his father ten days ago before departing to return west.
Rex Strawn of Loogootee Indiana was struck in the eye by a bird that flew into his face. The bird, believed to be a whip poor will, passed its bill through the eyeball causing total sight loss. Physicians say the eye will have to be removed.
In Hammond Indiana on March 24 a gasoline powered buzz saw broke from its bearings and struck farmer Herbert H Holmes leaving his nose and face badly lacerated and severing his collar bone while fatally wounding him. Nearby spectator John Wanks was hit by the saw and his arm was severed.
In Muncie Indiana March 24 a grim mystery surrounds the discovery of Wellington Garrett a 28 year old black man found in White River four miles east of town with two barbed wire wraps about his neck. Authorities probe the ties between the death and the wrap on his neck.

Eastbound Lehigh Valley freight engineer Henry Kabel and fireman John Gest die when their boiler explodes near Corfu. Brakeman Henry Meyers is blown from the top of the cars by the blast. Congress will be urged to address alleged mistreatment of American missionaries in Russia.

A jury in Louisville yesterday awarded A VY Jones eight hundred eighty eight dollars against the Louisville and Northern Railway Company in a suit claiming damages after a runaway horse frightened by exhaust near Nineteenth Street. The incident involved a surveyor's horse and horse lengthening citation. Church revival at Park Christian continues with Rev John W Marshall and Rev Frank T Porter reporting eighty two accessions since opening and services to continue.
