Western lawmakers met with President Roosevelt to finalize plans for his West and Northwest tour. Purdue University students involved in the Columbian hall riot reach an agreement with Prosecutor Randolph. The group pays 250 dollars to repair damage and fifteen ringleaders are fined one dollar plus costs each. Names of fined students will not be recorded.
The Mariposa brought full details from the Poumotu group in January. More than 600 lives were lost and losses exceed 500000 dollars. Relief work is underway in Apia and other Samoan locales to aid Poumotu residents.

Washington Indiana March 17 aged twenty Will Buckley of Plainville wounded his father Warren Buckley during a quarrel with another man. Intervening bystanders saved the father from instant death as the son slashed at his throat neck breast and face. Buckley recently figured in a street duel with Owen Booker with over twenty shots exchanged.
Edward Daniels twenty two years old was captured in the act of robbing the Normal City post office near Muncie Indiana. He later confessed to the crime. Federal authorities had hunted him for weeks for two prior robberies. Dozens of post offices in the region have been robbed over the last year. Daniels denies the charges and little is known of his background.
Frederick 8. Chase named guardian of his millionaire son in Lafayette Indiana. The youth, said to be of unsound mind, is reportedly confined in a Paris sanatorium, with access restricted. Judge Rabb of the Benton circuit court approved the bond of $160,000 at the father’s request amid sensational evidence.
The Missouri House passed a bill prohibiting sale or furnishing of cigarettes cigarette papers or wrappers to anyone under eighteen with a $100 fine per offense.
