A crowd of deputy sheriffs guards the courtroom door and search all entrants to bar firearms. Evidence includes a telegram from Powers to captains arranging an excursion of mountain men to Frankfort. Dr John South testified on Goebel’s wounds. Col Jack Chinn, with Goebel, described January crowds at the state house yard and the first shot from the secretary of state's office window. The blood stained clothing of Goebel was identified, and troops took charge of the state house within 8 to 10 minutes. W B Anderson testified at Harbourville hotel but was withdrawn after failing to answer key questions.
