John Laswell was fatally stabbed by Cyrus Jackson during a drunken quarrel in Evansville Indiana. Laswell and a companion attacked Jackson who defended himself with a single knife blow a five inch gash over Laswell's heart. Inpranaronis reports a tornado-like storm damaged towns injuring telephone lines and power poles with live wires causing shocks.
In Nonvisvient Indiana on December 27 police found seven men card playing in the courthouse office of county surveyor Will Cottingham. Two players were arrested as reports say masked attackers overpowered local officers and fled toward Maiesoxv Ville, while word spread of miner unrest and a company store being attacked in Hardety, prompting sheriff involvement.
A. E. Dallimore of Madison New Jersey claims Landry's Paralysis was cured after taking Dr Williams Pink Pills. Washington December 27 The house voted to pass a two and a half year tariff bill raising 40 million dollars for treasury relief. The measure, backed mainly along party lines, forbids amendments under an ironclad rule with an 205 to 1 vote and restores McKinley era rates on wool lumber and carpets while increasing others.
