In Frankfort Indiana on December 20 McClelland Lee age fifteen was killed at Frank Waite’s home when Arthur Waite while attempting to discharge an old breech loading shotgun accidentally fired hitting Lee in the head. The incident occurred as the youths prowled about the residence.
Geneva Indiana December 20 Fred DeHoff seventeen son of A C De Hoff and an old county farmer will die from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He and his fifteen year old brother were hunting when the younger boy discharged a gun accidentally. The shot pierced Fred's right forearm tore flesh and entered the abdomen carrying cloth fragments. He waited nearly six hours for medical help.
In Clinton Indiana on December 20 George Slaviansk an Italian man was instantly killed in a yard incident when his brother James accidentally triggered a shotgun while approaching a crow. George was struck in the breast and died instantly.
Rising Sun Indiana December 20 The James Gillespie murder trial over his twin sister Elizabeth widens into technical jockeying as Judge Cornet overrules the defense motion to withdraw Attorney McMullen's opening statement. The move would have discharged the jury, raising jeopardy concerns.
Berkley Smith, a colored man, killed his young wife after she refused to live with him. He told police he loved her and would meet her in heaven, calling her lovable despite the crime.

Davenport Iowa December 20. Explosion of the boiler on a large Rock Island locomotive killed engineer M Calhoun and fireman H Kinney. Head brakeman T Gimmel of Logansport Indiana and trainmen Gus Smith Russell Sherrod and George Nettleton were injured Gimmel seriously. The engine with a helper pulled a long freight train a few miles west of Davenport.
