London reports F F Ovilivie says discoveries in King Ahab s palace at Samaria include pottery tablets inscribed with letters of Ahab Jezebel and Elisha. Reisner s Harvard expedition found Roman and Herodian remains at Samaria in layered deposits with tax receipts in pottery fragments. If confirmed these would be early political Hebrew writings in recognizable script.
In Danville Illinois near Belgium chapel unknown assailant fired three buckshot loads into the church during services. Congregants fled and police with bloodhounds failed to locate a clue or suspect.

John J. Glesen shot Jennie Barlow formerly Jennie Grady then turned the weapon on himself and lies between life and death in Indianapolis City Hospital. A warrant charging him with assault and battery with intent to kill is held by a watch officer. If he recovers he will be arraigned.
