Enumeration records list totals by township Georgetown and Penn Franklin with white and colored counts. Overall grand totals show 6756 white and 510 colored persons, with notes including July Infanti.

Col. W. H. Snodgrass died Saturday afternoon at 3 in Watson seven miles from Jeffersonville. Born in Jefferson County, he moved to Clark County forty years ago, enlisted in the Union army and rose to colonel of the Twenty second Indiana Regiment. He served twelve years as roadmaster of the J M & I railway and twenty years as superintendent of Speed's cement works at Watson. A staunch Republican, he was active in campaigns.
Members of New Albany Division Uniform Rank K of P returned from Warsaw where they attended the state encampment. Capt. Cooper and the remaining division members arrived home this afternoon. The boys report they had a good time.
George Weisbecker of State street in Jeffersonville was injured at 9 am when his left hand fingers were severed by a buzz saw at the car works. He sought treatment in New Albany after the incident. The report also notes the execution date set for Mrs. Maybrick in Liverpool for August 26.

Indian children arrive for government funded education from several tribes. Lafayette switches to natural gas with 290 domestic connections. The Rev J F Kendall, D D longtime pastor, dies suddenly in Skaneateles. A Carrollton Kentucky shooting injures Billy Williams and Robert Carver. A mad dog scare in Bloomingdale ends with dog’s death. Mary Lambert dies from morphine overdose, fiancé Hezekiah Williams. Franklin hosts a large colored camp meeting with about 2000 attendees.
Elder T. E. Wilson of New Albany, the first colored graduate of DePauw University, spoke on Economy in Christian Living. His evening address drew a large crowd and impressed many white attendees who called it one of the grandest efforts from any preacher.
The Athletics defeated the home club with strong hitting and superior batting and fielding. Umpire Goldsmith drew heavy criticism for Saturday and portions of yesterday's contest, but in the end Louisville was favored on few close calls. Batteries Ewing and Vaughn, Wehing and Cross.
In Cincinnati and St Louis games, Battery pairs Mills and Baldwin in one clash and King and Milligan in another lead changes while crowds reach into thousands. Kansas City loses to Columbus as Conway and Hoover, Bald win and Kemmler pace the pitchers in another.

The funeral for the late George W. Hawk occurred this morning from his father's residence. A large crowd attended as many floral tributes were placed. Rev. J. E. Steele of Centenary church and a college classmate led the service. The burial followed at Northern cemetery.
William Neal and Jessie Sims, 17, opened fire at Joe Ross's house killing Albert Ross during a late night dance. Neal surrendered at the station claiming fear of Bud Sims. both men face first degree murder charges with a September circuit court term pending.
Frank Arbuckle assaulted William Beach with a hatchet and pistol during a wage dispute Saturday night. Beach grabbed the hatchet and struck Arbuckle three times. Beach was jailed later for $250 bail to face circuit court. Arbuckle survived, hid from police, and attempted to rule the river front after initially being reported dead.
On East Market Street a buggy wheel broke in a streetcar rail sending occupants to the pavement. A second wagon wreck occurred at Bank and Main during a turn. West Main saw a buggy strike a rut causing a runaway but no injuries. The Louisville group secured a replacement vehicle from George Shrader and continued home.
The Ohio Falls Iron Works with 250 workers produced 183 tons of finished iron last week. Demand centers on agricultural implements and railroad use. Peach thieves struck Ed White’s Sixth Street Elm residence Friday morning, taking peaches from a single tree.
