In Noblesville Indiana on August 10 a two year old child was found sitting on the floor with a seven foot blacksnake wrapped about its waist and caressing it. The mother seized the child and killed the reptile to save the child. She had observed the child isolating from other children and suspects the child and snake had played together for days.
At a large family reunion in Vincennes Indiana Rollie Bernard fifteen year old son of Mr and Mrs John Bernard drowned around eight oclock last night in the Wabash river nine miles above Vincennes Several boys swam after dark and Bernard is believed to have ventured too far from shore during the attempt to swim for fun
In South Bend Indiana on August 10 George Quinn was shot and badly wounded by Dominick Stampo during a clash involving Italian laborers. Quinn was rushed to St Josephs hospital where he was reported barely alive.
