A day after August 2 the Italian steamship Sirio with about 800 aboard wrecked on the Bajos Hormigas reef off Hormigas island near Cape Palos. In Danville St Aug 6 a heavily loaded car on the Danville Urbana interurban line overturned at 7 pm on a sharp curve. Constable Kelly Smoot was killed and twenty passengers seriously injured.
