From St Louis June 13 the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad reached Pierce City Missouri thirty miles west of Springfield. J J Lemoine confessed to robbing the First National Bank at Clearfield Pennsylvania in 1866 of eleven thousand dollars. He names Colonel David Murphy editor of a Washington Missouri newspaper as the accomplice. No credence is given to Murphy per Lemoine.
