Borough Engineer Jones reported thirty six Nazareth WPA curb gutter and sidewalk projects have been started and sent to Federal authority for approval. The plan covers 3 467 feet of curb and gutter and 14 100 square feet of sidewalk within Nazareth limits. Material cost is $6 000 to be furnished by property owners while WPA labor funds amount to $12 170. Construction will need 36 men for at least five months once under way.

Nazareth Vigilance Hose Company answered a 4:20 Sunday fire at Daniels Slate Quarry. A stack of straw threatened a two story barn and a chicken coop about four feet away but firefighters quickly extinguished it using a creek hose and water pump.
