A pretty wedding took place Saturday at St Calvary Parkside Church Upper Darby as Isabel Johnson daughter of Mrs Johnson and Randolph Helffrich of Darby united in marriage. Rev Dickinson officiated with Rev Helffrich assisting. Groom captained last year's Ursinus football team and is a lifeguard. Guests attended a church reception then a home reception. The bride teaches since college.

Firemen Contain Threatening Corn Stalk Blaze Near Farm
Bath Fire Department answered a Sunday 7:15 a.m. call from Klecknersville to a fire in corn stalks stored for shelter near the Thomas Graver farm. Firefighters battled the stubborn blaze to prevent spread to a nearby barn as wind geographies limited damage. The cause is unknown but believed to be from burning cobs in a brooder house with sparks possibly drifting onto dry stalks.
