After 37 years of service the Vigilance Hose Company announces a ball and card party on February 20. The event aims to revive the popular town social, last held 17 years ago, hoping public support and company cooperation will make the 1934 ball the best yet.
Rev R H Helfrich was formally installed as pastor at Bath Church in a long, ceremonial service attended by area clergy and many members. Speakers included H J Ehret and Rev Dr Wotring with concluding benediction by Rev Heldrich. the event traced ministry lineage back to 1641 in Germany.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Frantz hosted Saturday guests including Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kreamer and daughter Phyllis of Washington New Jersey Addison Cope and Lola Boustein Aluta Mr. and Mrs. Oram Kreamer others from town At church services Mrs h was guest soloist and led two numbers with the congregation.

After a split between old and new boards and a court injunction, the Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Co. elected officers: Pres ton Hess president, Howard Knecht vice president, William D. Kunkle secretary, A N Itterly treasurer, Woodley Davis solicitors. The board plans 10 percent rate cuts, policy readjustment, and debt reduction. The company claims over 40 million dollars of coverage and 11 000 policy holders and will complete bookkeeping system approved by the State Insurance Commission.
More than 1500 licenses have been issued to weighmasters in Pennsylvania since the weighmaster law took effect January 2. The act requires coal and other solid fuels to be weighed by a licensed weighmaster before delivery and the buyer must receive a slip noting the exact weight. Secretary Philip H. Dewey notes the law began immediately upon approval and licenses are granted for a three year period upon payment of a fee.
The Ladies Aid Society and the Adult Bible Class of St John s Lutheran church will jointly sponsor the annual doughnut sale held in the church basement kitchens. Proceeds support church activities and community outreach during the event.

Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Young of Belfast celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with children, grandchildren, and a great grandchild. Born in 1862 and 1866 in local townships, they married in Nazareth on January 28, 1884 and later settled in Belfast for 40 years. He worked at the Northampton Hard Wein Slate Quarry and for 23 years as a labor foreman at the Lone Star Cement Plant in Nazareth. The event featured music and a large dinner.
Harrisburg announces Red Cross backed program to train CWA workers in first aid. Secretary Sam Lewis says advanced Red Cross instructors will lead courses for supervisory staff and selected groups, expanding to more towns if requested. Nearly 4000 department workers, foremen and related personnel, have completed the standard Red Cross course.
The Bureau of Highway Patrol reports 64 897 drivers had at least one year of experience prior to their crash while a total of 71 639 motor vehicle operators were involved in accidents in the period. The data highlights experience as a factor in crash involvement.

Harrisburg reports a record five day Pennsylvania Farm Show with an estimated 287000 attendees surpassing 1933 figures. About 75000 autos plus rail travelers visited the Farm Show Building as 9600 entries across 23 departments set new highs.
Lewen Pizor, manager of the Broad Street Theatre, was reelected president of the M. P. T. O. of Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware at a January 23 meeting at the Eli Hotel.
