Charles Silfies, 41, shot his wife at their Northampton County farm and then killed himself after a quarrel during threshing. Five children were at home. Earl 20 Mae 13 Mildred 11. The event drew in local residents and authorities. coroner ruled no inquest and funeral arrangements were made.

Freight Car Hits Auto at Nazareth Crossing
A freight car struck an auto at the Lehigh and New England crossing near the Bates Valve Bag Company plant in Nazareth. William Young owned the car and Horace Reagan was found in the vehicle. both escaped injury as the car was badly damaged. A brakeman was not aboard the freight car during the incident.
