Palm Sunday Services at Moravian Church Draw Large Crowd

Palm Sunday services filled the Moravian church auditorium with worshippers from Palmyra New Jersey. The program included anthems by the choir and male chorus, a sermon on John 10 27, confirmations and letters of church membership, and an evening recital by the orchestra and soloists under Paul Beck with Rev Franz Zeller assisting.

Scout Masters Presented Hiking Boots at Rotary Meeting

Nazareth Rotary Club met Monday evening in the YMCA social rooms. Scouts received hiking boots as a token of appreciation for Scout work. Prof. Ziegler of Lafayette College praised Scout ideals and training youths. The Baslesre badge was presented to Te win Uhler of Nagdeerh Troop 1 by Co Fredertel Martin. Rotarians Elmer Snyder and Raymond Shields received boots as well. Next meeting will be in charge of Dr A Praunfelder with health talk by Dr J Condvan.

Big district meeting set for April 14 by Nazareth Odd Fellows

Hundreds of Odd Fellows from the Northern District of Northampton county will attend Nazareth Lodge No. 1099s gala night on Saturday April 14 at Nazareth High School Auditorium. The event features a degree work with about twenty five candidates and a large district staff, an orchestra, trombone and cornet troupe, and a high profile address by Vernon Hester District Deputy Grand Master. Attorney Stanley J. Fehr will chair the meeting and introduce the principal speaker from Washington, with the program expected to be the largest Odd Fellows gathering in years.

Lutheran Palm Sunday Services At Niagareth

Man Dies After Mountainville Crash Near Nazareth

George Weaver age 48 of Mountainville died at Rosenkrans Hospital Stroudsburg from injuries in a Sunday crash at the Saylorsburg hill. His wife Mrs Weaver injured, driver Williard Dries fined 25 dollars for reckless driving. Weaver formerly headed Wellington Silk Mill.

Tax Delinquents and Exemptions Tabled by Board

Azareth school board met at Nagareth High School to review tax delinquents and exemptions. Grinith and former collector Adam Miler attended and examined the list. Delinquents’ back taxes were to be turned over to a justice of the peace for collection. State inspectors’ report on the high school was read, and moving picture booth improvements were referred to the property committee. The lengthy tax exemption discussion prevented finishing all business, adjourned to April 16.

Car Loses Wheel In Sight Collision

Rayavidson of Bath Loses left front wheel when his car turning left from Main street into Belvidere collides with oncoming Fleischman at an intersection Monday morning. Both vehicles had right of way. Davidson continues after sharing a wheel and minor delay.

Body of Murdered Man Found Near Beersville School

The body of Eugene Allaban, 68, of Bethlehem, was found behind an outside toilet at a Washington school house near Beersville. Coroner W. Calvin Nickel said the injuries suggested blunt force trauma. Auto tracks showed the body was moved to the site. No bullet wounds were found and police learned little about the case.
