Navasota to sell bonds for water and roads
The City of Navasota plans sealed bids to sell 450000 in general obligation bonds from a 1973 referenda. The bonds complete a 900000 issue for waterworks sewer and road and bridge work. Davis McGill of A G Edwards and Sons Bryan says the city remains in excellent financial condition for bonding and the issue can be retired with funds.

Suit filed for crash victim’s family in Texas

A one year old girl Leta Perry, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Perry of Singleton, died in Madison County from accidental drowning. An inquest by Justice of the Peace P P Rawlins found the child playing in the kitchen fell head first into a five gallon container with food scraps and liquid intended for a dog. She dropped her bottle and, while trying to retrieve it, slipped into the mix. Family members were ill and could not help.
