Elliott's Drug burglary yields minor leads and stolen cash
Navasota and Grimes County lawmen investigated a pre dawn burglary at Elliott's Drug and Dr Hansen clinic. A GI cap with the name Jahn Jim Johnson was traced to a Jimmy Elton Johnson of College Station whose stolen car contained a bank money bag with 6.25. About $600 in cash and checks and narcotics were taken, while drugs not wanted were left scattered. Entry came via roof with a ladder, safe knob pried, doors forced, and a back exit used.

ERA offers $2334 in goods to highest bidders Saturday as Grimes County Commissioners meet at 2 30 p m Friday to open bids on the proposed 416000 Grimes County Hospital. Bob Ford of Brazos Valley Hospital notes bids from general contractors across the state and says only general contractor bids are accepted. A 200000 federal grant from HEW was approved last week for the 28 bed hospital with state approval granted earlier. Construction likely to start after a contractor is chosen on Judson street site just south of the present hospital.

Four Sentenced In District Court At Anderson
In Anderson on Monday Judge Max M Rogers of Huntsville sentenced three men to the state penitentiary and placed another on probation. A civil suit Tri-County Grain Co. of Navasota vs Texas Cyanide Co. incited a ruling in favor of Tri-County Grain. Doris Goforth of Missouri drew three years for car theft from Mrs. Horlock of 1215 F. Washington Ave. James Mosley of Houston got five years probation for stealing a cow from Roy Jones at Anderson. Thomas McGaha, already serving eight years in Grimes and eight in Montgomery, received three more years for automobile theft from Robert E F Lee at Richards. Melford Franks of Bryan got five years for burglary involvement at Roans Prairie and Shire. The civil suit sought $987.70 for weevil extermination plus $330 legal fees. Texas Cyanide had performed an extermination service at the Tri-County Grain storage building. The first extermination attempt was unsuccessful.
