Red Cross to Offer Swim Classes in Grimes County
Grimes County American Red Cross plans a six day sign up at 8 30 am on Saturday June 11 for a two and a half week program at the municipal pool. Classes run Monday through Friday with 4 one hour sessions daily for beginners through advanced swimmers. A student water show will close the course at 5 30 pm Friday July 1.

Trinity Lutheran Bible School Starts Monday
The Trinity Lutheran Church in Navasota begins its annual vacation Bible school on Monday June 6 at 9 a.m. for children ages three through seven. Rev. Beef Short Course Offered At Navasota High School
A beef production short course for adult farmers will be held June 6 to 9 at Navasota High School in the Vocational Agriculture Building starting at 7 45 p m each night. First Telcoa Cable TV Program Scheduled in 90 Days
Navasota residents will receive their first cable television programs in about 90 days, announced by George Franks vice president and general manager of Navasota Telephone Company. Telcoa Company Inc plans 45 miles of cable built by Henkles and McKay of Elkhart Indiana Anaconda of Northfield Ohio is prime contractor. The system will cover seven TV channels and one FM station at about 3800 dollars per mile. A 360 foot master antenna tower on Roy Walker Moore Place south of the city water tower will serve channels 2 8 11 13 in Houston 3 in Bryan 6 in Waco Temple and 7 in Austin.
