Houston Man Arrested In Car Theft Here
Freddie Rendall, 52, of 508 Jenson Drive Houston, was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department last Thursday night in connection with an automobile theft case. The stolen 1954 Chevrolet was taken from a locked garage at 404 East Washington Avenue Friday night December 16. Rendall and the car were found in Houston Saturday morning at 11 o’clock by Dick Johnson Grimes County sheriff. Johnson said Rendall had two prior car theft convictions totaling sixteen years, with five years served recently.

Fire Destroys Ranch Cabin Killing Dr Butaud Near Singleton
Dr Butaud Mata gorda County health officer for three years died in a ranch cabin fire six miles northwest of Singleton early Saturday. Fire crews estimated the blaze started overnight most likely from a cigarette or kerosene lamp. Surviving are his widow Pendora Butaud of Bay City, two sons, a sister, and three brothers. Funeral services were held at Lake of the Woods Chapel Forest Park Cemetery Houston with pallbearers named.
