UF Drive Tops Fund Goal in Navasota Grimes County
The Navasota Grimes County United Fund exceeded its 13495 goal Tuesday with a total of 13529.74, a 34.74 margin and the largest haul in five years. Campaign leaders praised divisions and workers while noting 47 Century Club members, 11,715.50 from Navasota, and 606.50 from the colored division led by Leo McGee.

The Navasota Quarterback Club will host a 7 p.m. banquet in the school cafeteria to honor the Rattler varsity, junior varsity, and Fangs junior high team. 73 NHS Students Listed on 2nd Honor Roll
Navasota High School announces 74 students on the second six weeks honor roll per Principal J D Chaney. $40 000 Building Permit For New Brookshire Center
A $40 000 building permit was issued Thursday by the city to NASA Properties Inc of San Antonio for a structure on North LaSalle Avenue. The site, recently purchased by Roy Martin & Associates, also of San Antonio, will house a Brookshire Brothers Super Market. City Manager Jack Garrison stated the building marks the first unit of a new shopping center complex by the San Antonio developers.
