The Navasota P-TA presents its annual Christmas pageant at 7 30 p m December 19 in the school auditorium. Elementary choirs directed by Mrs Gerald Purcell and the Navasota High School band led by Carlye Jorgensen perform carols from around the world with music from France Mexico Spain England Germany and Italy. No admission charge.

Christmas parade a big success as 1966 crowd tops 30 year mark
Chamber officials and merchants praised the Thursday Santa parade along Main Street from Navasota High School to West Washington. Parade Marshal Robert A. Harris led the event with support from C. E. Pirtle Bill Cleve land Robert Nemir and John Ayres plus Ernest Carraway who donated and delivered the Christmas tree. Also noted was the August Horse Airstrip’s two inch hot mix topping creating a smooth 50 by 2,500 foot landing area drawing frequent inquiries about its repairs.

Car Hits Rear Of Motorcycle Injuring Rider In Navasota
Lawrence Keisler a 23 year old Navasota man suffered minor injuries when his motorcycle was struck from the rear by an automobile on State Highway near the Navasota Livestock Commission Company. Keisler was treated at Grimes Memorial Hospital and kept overnight for observation. The driver, 61 year old Anderson Bookman of Navasota, was charged with failure to control speed. Both vehicles were eastbound on State Highway 90 when Keisler stopped to wait for traffic before turning onto a lane toward his home. Bookman’s car struck the motorcycle, throwing it about 45 feet from the impact.

The Grimes Memorial Convalescent Home will host a Christmas tree and open house on a Wednesday during the regular devotional hour. First National Chorus Plans Final Rehearsals
