Three Way Collision Leaves Five Injured In Madisonville Area
A three vehicle crash at the junction of highways 90 and 45 at Roans Prairie Sunday afternoon injured five people, one critically. Luther Olen Williams and his wife Mrs. Luther Williams were hospitalized in Madisonville with serious injuries while Mary Louise Dean, from Longview, and Charles Edward Jacobs of Corpus Christi were also treated and released. Dean was cited for running a stop sign.

Yarbrough Named Baptist Music Director at Local Church

Firemen Extinguish Small Fire at Manning Home
Paul Manning of 517 McNair Avenue credited Nav asota firefighters with preventing a major blaze early Friday morning. Between 12 30 and 1 00 a m Mrs Manning woke to smoke as firefighters found a floor furnace on fire and evacuated the alarm. Tim Burns led a rapid response with a fire truck on scene within five minutes and a strong crew within ten. Nearly all contents were saved except the furnace.

Tim Burns, a fire truck driver, was stricken at his station apartment Saturday night around 8 00 PM with acute lead poisoning. He had inhaled fumes while melting metal for fishing sinkers and was unaware of the danger. On doctors orders he remains confined to bed this week.
