Youens Building Shopping Center on Holland Street
Construction began this week on a new Youens Shopping Center on Holland Street beside Brazos Valley Feed Mill. Designed by Lewis Youens of Goleman & Rolfe, the two story site replaces the old J. Youens & Co planing mill office from the 1890s and will host three stores with room for two more units later. Commitments include a barber shop, restaurant and possibly a beauty parlor, with tentative plans for a confectionary and barbecue stand.
