The Board of Education will stop out of district transportation for students to day care centers or homes at the end of the current year. Transfers outside districts will be done by parents in 1997 98 while in district rides remain. Parents fear safety and seek solutions as the policy enforces in district pickups and drop offs.

Oster to Lead Memorial Day Parade in Union City
United States Marine Corps Lieutenant General Jeffrey W. Oster will be grand marshal for Union City Memorial Day parade. He serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Programs and Resources at Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington DC. John Orzel commands C Battery. Also marching: Company A 2nd Battalion 417th Regiment of the 98th Division, US Army Reserve. First Sergeant Edward Abraham leads NCCO. 103d Tactical Fighter Group, Connecticut Air National Guard, will fly by, coordinated by Master Sergeant Robert Tuckey.
