More than 60 entrants accepted invitations to attend a social singin at the Connecticut State Capitol Hall of Flags from 7 30 to 9 30 p m tomorrow. The event, organized by the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, is noncompetitive and not part of judging. 136 manuscripts met guidelines from 268 entries, with invited contestants and families attending. Also noted: local club meetings and ROTC scholarship news amid community notices.
Herman Sanditz 63 of 83 Earl Street Waterbury died Saturday at home after a lung illness. Born July 21 1908 in Waterbury he was son of Adolph and Sophie Sanditz. He founded the Greater Waterbury Cerebral Palsy Association and belonged to Beth El Synagogue the Waterbury Rotary Club Kal Hartford chapter and the American Society of Travel Agents. He owned Sanditz Travel Service Sandila Insurance Agency and served as treasurer and secretary of Sanditz liquor store. He is survived by his wife Lillian Klein Sandila two daughters Arlene and Joan two sisters and several relatives. Burial was at Waterbury Hebrew Benefit Cemetery with Rabbi Gewirtz and Dr Pinsky officiating.
Laurel Ledge PTA Cub Scout Pack 10 met recently to present their circus themed program for the month. The event showcased activities and teamwork aimed at engaging scouts in community service and skill building.
Weather Conditions Den Nos 1 and 2 presented side peep shows and games of skill. Den Nos 3 and 4 showcased circus skits. Refreshments were served by Den Mothers. Notable acts included Tumbling Monkey Robert Howard Tina the Ballarina Toney Poeta Bozo and Nozo Richard Sill and Robert Brissom Hobo and Lobo Glen Gabrielli Billy Cable and weight lifter Robert Ellis with an ice cream man Michael Kingsley. Absentees and measles forced last minute scrapping. Betty Cantore's Den 2 won the Parents Attendance Award. Bear Badges awarded to Mathew Hackerman Peter DiClementi. New boys inducted: Michael Kingsley Thomas Neville Robert Ellis. Webelos graduates Mathew Hackerman Glenn Gabrielli. Balloon Race held. Cubs won. Scout Exhibit May 20 at Bethlehem Fair Grounds. Next Pack Meeting May 24 with Annual Live Frog and Turtle Races.
