Civil War Study At Hillside
Eighth grade at Hillside School completed a March Civil War project unit. Students researched burnished war phases, displayed battle scenes, models, maps, flags, and booklets in Room 39. An original play, The Era of Distress, was staged by the class and hosted visiting teachers and classes.

Mrs Galvin s sixth grade class at Salem School presented a radio play The Tinder Box to third graders. The cast included Soldier John Wysokiiskiy Landlord Thomas Feeney Witch Natalie Paiya Princess Kathleen Leonard Kings Anthony Laws Queen Mae fia Simoes Lady Mary Susan Lacharity Dog Donald Gould Advouncer and Sound Effects Steven Budienowski Narcator Keith Dyson The audience enjoyed the performance and hopes for a repeat show. Save The Children Drive at Nau Gtuck Public Serials during the week of April 15 1996 was very successful.
