Naugatuck High School students will dedicate a new evergreen on the Green tomorrow at 10 30 am replacing the old Christmas tree. The event, postponed from Arbor Day due to rain, is organized by F Floyd Wooster and the Naugatuck Daily News with the Park Commission present. Delores Micle gives the welcome, the choir sings America the Beautiful, and there are poems and recitations by Mary Lou Linskey and Roger Quint concluding with a benediction.
President George Froehlich of Loon 45 United Rubber Workers said the regular meeting set for May 31 has been postponed indefinitely by the executive board.
The regular meeting of the Board of Warden and Burgesses is set for Monday to decide on appointing a full time Civil Defense Director at town hall. An appropriation for the director’s salary was approved at the Freemen’s meeting. Patrolman Henry Racki may receive a leave of absence if named.
