A weather recording device, first of its kind seen in town, was retrieved Friday afternoon by local workers. The balloon deployed the instrument to high altitude, where it transmitted data on pressure moisture and heat back to the weather base before landing. Recovery followed. authorities indicate the instrument will be placed at a U S site.
