Later in Marszałkowska street more demonstrators gathered amid expectations of further clashes. In St Petersburg officials deny rioting while bracing for disturbances.
The statement from New York and Hartford railroad and Greenwich Tramway reports that at a directors meeting held Saturday April 39 Golenel N Hft resigned as director and president of the two companies. OC. S Mollen was elected to succeed him.

In Trenton on May 1 Joseph Coleman claimed to be in love with a woman living with Mrs. Louis Snyder on Second Street. A police officer spotted him crawling into a window at 6 o clock and he fled through backyards for a quarter mile before being captured.
London reports the Baltic fleet lies off Port Dagal forty miles north of Kamranh Bay as the French squadron is mobilized to maintain neutrality in French waters. Birmingham notes two Russian agents sailed for New York to buy 40 000 tons of steel rails to double track the Trans Siberian Railway, aiding transport to Manchuria amid the war.
